When you have a wooded stretch of property, it can start to feel more like a mess than an asset. Bare ground, competing grass, no real definition around any of the trees. It looks neglected even when you're not neglecting it. That's exactly the kind of situation we walked into on this job.
We installed over 65 individual mulch rings across this wooded area in Pendleton, Indiana. Each ring was cut and placed around its own tree - clean edges, consistent coverage, dark fresh mulch that ties the whole space together. It sounds straightforward, but doing it right across that many trees takes time and attention. Spacing, shape, depth - it all matters.
Here's why mulch rings are worth doing. Beyond the looks, they actually protect your trees. They keep mowers and trimmers away from the base, reduce soil compaction, hold moisture in, and cut down on weed competition. Every ring we put down is doing real work for the tree it surrounds.
A wooded area like this one can be one of the better-looking features on a property - or it can be an eyesore. The difference is usually just whether anyone took the time to give it some structure. This is the kind of work we do as part of our spring clean up services, and the results speak for themselves.
Sixty-five trees is a big job. But when it's done, you can see the difference from end to end. The space goes from rough and patchy to something that actually looks cared for. That's the goal every time.
