A lot of homeowners don't think about their entry steps until they become a problem - crumbling edges, an uneven surface, or just something that looks beat up and out of place. That's where we came in on this one. The goal was simple: get a clean, solid set of Colfax stone steps in place that would actually hold up and look good doing it.

Colfax stone is one of our go-to materials for this kind of work. It's a natural limestone that weathers well, sits firm, and has a clean, neutral look that pairs nicely with just about any home exterior. You can see how the tone complements the light siding and white trim around the French doors - nothing flashy, just a really solid fit for the space.

We set two full stone treads here, stacked and leveled to give a secure, comfortable rise from ground level up to the door threshold. Getting that right matters more than people realize. A step that shifts even a little bit over time becomes a safety issue - and natural stone installed correctly doesn't have that problem.

What we ended up with is a tight, well-set entry that feels sturdy underfoot and looks like it belongs. No wobble, no gaps, no concerns. It's the kind of work that quietly does its job for years without you having to think about it again. That's the point.
