There's a certain point where a front yard stops looking maintained and starts looking forgotten. Overgrown shrubs, faded mulch, and messy beds are easy to ignore day-to-day - but they're the first thing everyone else notices.
What we did here is pretty straightforward, and that's kind of the point. Fresh dark mulch laid into the beds, shrubs trimmed down to clean, uniform lines, and the whole front of the house pulled back together into something that actually looks sharp. No major overhaul. Just the right work done the right way.
Hedge trimming is one of those things that looks simple but makes a huge difference when it's done well. Getting that flat, consistent top line across a full run of shrubs takes patience and a good eye. Cut them wrong and they look choppy. Cut them right and the whole yard looks intentional.
The dark mulch does a lot of heavy lifting too. It defines the beds, holds moisture, and gives everything a clean backdrop. Paired with the natural stone border along the bed edge, it ties the whole space together without needing anything elaborate. That's what good mulch installation does - it finishes the yard.
This is the kind of work that doesn't need a big budget or a full redesign. A bed cleanup, fresh mulch, and some careful trimming go a long way. If your front yard is starting to look a little rough around the edges, this is exactly where we'd start.
